February is Black History Month, a time to celebrate the achievements and contributions of African Americans throughout history. This year, however, the significance of this month is overshadowed by the divisive rhetoric and actions of President Donald Trump.
In a speech marking the beginning of Black History Month, Trump praised the accomplishments of African Americans and highlighted the importance of celebrating their legacy. He spoke about the many African Americans who have made significant contributions to American society, from civil rights leaders to athletes and entertainers.
However, Trump’s words ring hollow in light of his track record on issues of race and diversity. Throughout his presidency, Trump has made numerous statements and taken actions that have been widely criticized as racist and discriminatory.
